Birthday card duo

Hey guys!  I'm here today to share a few just for fun cards I made.  As I've probably said a million times, the cards I use the most by far are Birthday and Thanks cards.  So I'm always up for adding a few more to my stash of cards.  I pulled out the Cake Walk line by October Afternoon and made these two cards.

The first card of them that I made was this one, simple because I was dying to use these adorable balloon dies I ordered by Paper Smooches.  There are so many companies with balloon dies, but I chose these for the good price point, and cute sizes.  I decided to use the inlaid die cut technique to incorporate some patterned paper stars in the balloons.  I used the Puffy Star die, and 2x3 Journaling card die set, both from Lawn Fawn.  I used my white gel pen to add a few marks to the balloons, and my Wink of Stella over the inlaid stars, and on the sentiment letter stickers.  I was really happy with the way it turned out, I think it's super cute!

Also, it's hard to see, but I also tied a sting around the balloon ends with simple white thread.  It looks quite cute in person :)

And then because I had all these supplies pulled out on my desk already I made a second card.  I had a scrap of glitter paper on my desk and used that as the base to my card for a little extra fun.
